The programme is peer-led and aimed at 13- to 19-year-olds who want to help edu-cate other young people about sexual health. There are seven regional boards made up of young people who assess applications for their areas.
How much is on offer: Grants are available for up to £1,000. The next round of funding will open towards the end of May.
What it will fund: Grants should be used to develop projects that improve young people's understanding, knowledge and skills around sex and relationships. The trust encourages young people to think creatively about potential schemes. Suggested projects include theatre events, community events or workshops, young people-led sessions to educate teachers or parents, conferences, projects to address sexual or homophobic bullying and podcasts.
Who can apply: Groups of 13- to 19-year-olds can apply for grants provided they work in partnership with a youth work professional from a sponsoring organisation, such as a teacher, scout or guide leader, key worker, drug and alcohol project worker school representative or youth worker. The sponsoring organisation must also account for any funding the project receives.
Who it has funded: London project Beer Goggles was awarded funding to educate young people about HIV, sexually transmitted infections and how alcohol can influence decisions about sex. A project in Colchester also received cash to carry out a needs assessment for a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender group.
