Justice minister David Hanson revealed the figures in Parliament after he was quizzed by Madeleine Moon, Labour MP for Bridgend, south Wales. Hanson said juvenile prisoners aged 15 to 17 should not travel in the same vehicle as adult prisoners except in special circumstances, such as when a delay in waiting for a separate vehicle is not in the best interests of the young person.
