Global Youth Action aims to empower 1,000 young people from disadvantaged groups to take action on the global issues that matter to them. The project is being overseen by education charity DEA and funded by V.
Previous projects included Global Graffiti, in which ex-offenders learned about the art form worldwide and started a project to cut down on tagging.
James Edleston, project manager of Global Youth Action, said: "It is about making connections between young people's lives, concerns in England and the bigger picture."
