Over the last 12 months its youth membership has risen by 3.7 per cent, which amounts to 13,500 young people and brings the total to 450,000. This has left the association with a shortfall of 6,400 adult volunteers, meaning there are now 32,000 young people registered to become Scouts who are currently unable to do so.
