The percentage of students achieving Level 4 or above in mathematics and English at Key Stage 2 - which covers children aged from seven to 11 - has increased for the fifth year running. However, the government is still not meeting its own targets.
Last year, 77 per cent of pupils attained Level 4 or above in
mathematics and 80 per cent attained Level 4 or above in English. But
government targets state that 85 per cent of pupils should have achieved
