The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies (CCJS) report, Knife Crime? A Review of Evidence and Policy, has found that government needs to look more closely at why young people carry knives. The authors argue that enforcement and punitive action to combat knife carrying and knife use, such as harsher sentences, do not address the root causes of the problem.
