Inspectors are to increase their focus on youth work under a framework announced yesterday (4 September). From this month Ofsted will carry out more detailed inspections of local authority youth services. These inspections will report on how youth work is contributing to young people's achievement and the Every Child Matters outcomes. The changes mean a separate report on the findings of youth work inspections will be published alongside joint area reviews.
