The Metropolitan Black Police Association last week launched a qualification aimed at tackling youth crime. The Young Leaders for Safer Cities BTEC course has been launched to tackle the issues of gang culture and violence and to bring about positive youth leadership. Accredited by exam board Edexcel, the qualification is the equivalent to a GCSE and is being piloted in schools in 10 London areas.
