A scheme to ease tension among young people in different parts of Hackney has been working over the summer. The east London borough’s sustainable transport unit and the police’s safer neighbourhoods team have set up the Repair Bike Maintenance Scheme. The project aims to get young people from different estates working together to stop community divisions occurring.
