More than a third of young women believe they receive biased careers advice because of their gender, according to a Girlguiding UK survey. The online poll, completed by nearly 300 guides aged between 14 and 26, found 35 per cent thought their gender influenced the advice they got. Some felt they were likely to be encouraged to look at female-dominated careers such as childcare or teaching. The young women also criticised the amount of careers guidance they were given.
