Think-tank Demos is calling for local authorities to have the right to recall inspectors to help them implement the changes suggested in inspection reports. The Demos report The Leadership Imperative, which launches today (7 December), says: "By involving inspection teams an enormous resource of knowledge could be mobilised." The first local authority Annual Performance Assessments, released last week, found three-quarters of children's services deliver above minimum requirements.
