Edinburgh's Childcare Information Service is launching a new free-phone number (0800 0320323) sponsored by British Telecom. There are more than 1,000 different services available in the city for children aged between three months and 16 years old. The Information Service database holds details of breakfast clubs, sports camps, and lists of childminders experienced in looking after children with special needs. The service also provides training to childcare workers and information about new legislation.
