National awareness and career recruitment campaign in Scotland

A national awareness and career recruitment campaign for early years workers and other care professionals is to be run in Scotland by the Scottish Executive. The campaign will be aimed at nursery workers, childminders and other childcarers, and will seek to raise the profile of the social services sector as well as targeting particular problem areas for recruitment and retention. Last month a steering group was set up to develop the campaign. It is being led by the Scottish Executive and is made up of a number of professional and voluntary organisations.
